cup San Francisco Chocolate Factory dark chocolate discs
2 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 cups (three sticks) unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar, plus extra sugar for dusting
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup almonds, finely chopped
PREPARATION
1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Melt the chocolate and milk over
low heat, preferably in a double-boiler.

In
a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla. Slowly
blend in the chocolate-milk mixture.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt. Mix slowly
into the chocolate-butter mixture, and fold in the almonds.
4.
Form
dough into 1 1/2" balls and roll in sugar. Place on a
greased cookie sheet.
5.
Bake balls for 12-15 minutes (until the cookies are set but
not dark brown).
